Facility Highlights

Elmer and Jeff Baer of Marshallville built this brand new facility this past year. The cows are milked through two DeLaval robots. A system of one way gates are utilized to work the cows through the milking center as part of their daily activities.

The freestall barn is  a 3-row barn bedded with sand. The alleys are flushed every other hour which then flows through a sand lane and on to a 2-stage settling pond. Other features include fans for cooling, a trimming chute for lame cows, a mechanical cow brush for grooming, and activity monitors to aid in heat detection.
