2019 Wayne County Farm Tour

 The 2019 Wayne County Farm Tour will take place on Saturday October 12, 2019 from 11 am to 6pm and on Sunday October 13, 2019 from 1 pm to 6 pm.  The stops for this year's Wayne County Farm Tour include:

HIllside Feed Hay & Supply/ Lingle Boer Goats: This new business is owned and operated by Ryan and Chelsi Lingle. Hillside Feed Hay and Supply services the area’s needs for livestock feed, farm and show supplies, and forage. This young family is also raising Boer goats. At this stop, visitors will be able to see their goat herd and tour the store. The Lerch's Donut trailer will also be here, if you are hungry for one of Wayne County's finest treats!

Lincoln Way Vineyards, Inc: The vineyard/winery is owned and operated by Jim and Sherri Borton. At this stop, visitors will get to see the equipment used and demonstrations on the process of producing wine. On Saturday only, there will be wine tasting available (for a fee) along with wine for consumption on site or to take home. 

JR Acres, LLC: Is owned and operated by Ron and Janie Grosjean. On this stop of the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to view over 30,000 square feet in three buildings containing primitive agricultural pieces dating back to the late 1800’s, horse-drawn items, hundreds of antique corn shellers, agricultural signs. While at this stop, plan on some time to at Joe’s Ken and Kelly’s homemade ice cream, and Sons of the American Legion from Shreve, will be serving hot dogs.

Zido Valley Dairy: Is a dairy co-owned by John and Lois Douglass and Josh and Sarah Zimmerly. On this farm, 100 acres of alfalfa and corn is produced and is the home to 675 Holstein cattle.  At this stop of the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the farm as well as visit with multiple vendors from the dairy industry. At this farm, the Wayne County dairy youth will be selling milk shakes and the Cheezylicious food truck will have sandwiches available for purchase.

Moreland Fruit Farm:  Is owned and operated since 2018 by the Emanuel Miller family, after they purchased it from the Finney family.  The farm consists of 100 acres devoted to fruit and vegetable production and is open every month of the year except April. Moreland Fruit Farm will be open for visitors on Saturday only.   Fresh pressed cider, cider slushies, and hot cider will be available all day on Saturday.

Moreland Historical Society: Visitors will stop at a farm owned by Gail and Gwen Miller.  The farm originated in 1825 with a land grant signed by President John Quincy Adams. The farm will host displays of both modern and restored antique farm equipment. There will be chicken and pork BBQ avaliable for a donation.

Green Field Farms: Is a farmer owned co-op where the organic produce from 75 local farmers is consolidated and distributed. Visitors will get a tour of the produce distribution warehouse, and tours of the custom fertilizer blending facility. Green Field Farms will be open for visitors on Saturday only. All the Green Field Farms products will be available for purchase at the Farm Market tent.
